4.15.2 Dendrochronology
The team continues to maintain a close link with the Ancient Monument Laboratory and has provided advice and assistance on a number of tree-ring dating projects throughout the past year. We are currently looking at ways to make better use of the valuable historical research data gained through English Heritage funded tree-ring dating projects, and have been active in identifying and promoting a number of thematic dating projects, for example Deptford High Street (the development of the urban vernacular house in eighteenth-century London); Wingfield College (the chronology of the raised-aisle hall house in Suffolk and Norfolk), and Court Cottage, Preston Wynne (the chronology and historical significance of the truncated cruck house in fourteenth-century
