During 1994-95, fieldwork was carried out at a wide variety of sites for a range of different strategic and management objectives. Work associated with the restoration of Windsor Castle continued; the fabric survey ran throughout the year, and some small- scale excavations were also undertaken as appropriate.
The final season of excavations at Battle Abbey took place, together with the continuing evaluation at Whitby Abbey in advance of proposed developments.
Work also continued for a second season at Margery Hill, Peak District National Park, and at Portsmouth Dockyard. Damage incurred by the Mitchell's Fold Stone Circle, Shropshire, required a rapid response project to record and assess the damage before the successful re-erection of the stones.
