During the year the analysis project entered its final phase. A short report on an isolated Roman pottery kiln was published (Busby, PA, Evans, J, Huntley, J P and Wilson, PR, A Pottery kiln at Catterick, Britannia 27, (1996), 283-97 (see section 6) and the report on the early Anglian evidence was completed for publication in Medieval Archaeology 40 1-61. The main report on the Roman period sites was accepted for publication as a CBA Research Report. The final descriptive site text was drafted and other site texts and previously prepared finds and environmental reports edited to the house style. Final corrections are currently being undertaken by the main authors and the synthetic texts are being finalised.
